Cover Girl

Congratulations to Ann Stautberg for making the cover of this month's D Home Magazine! Her beautiful photograph is featured in an article covering the "10 Most Beautiful Homes in Dallas". Not too shabby.

Now showing

If you are at the DMA any time soon, please do head over to the American Art section where two recent acquisitions are currently installed. We are honored to boast of both Andrea Rosenberg and Toni LaSelle in our roster and in the Dallas Museum of Art collection.

Party pics

*Big thanks to Jeanne PreJean for the photos

If you missed the terrific opening of Allison V. Smith's Hall Pass a few weeks ago, come by on your way to the Texas State Fair. The show is up until October 18th.

Go Danny!

Today the Dallas Museum of Art officially purchased six drawings of Danny Williams' from his recent exhibition, World Apart, at the gallery in May. Congratulations to a veritable artist who truly loves what he does. Fortunately, we all do too.

Dallas Observer Best Of

Alright, cue the Tina Turner on this one. Congratulations to, well, us for winning the Dallas Observer's highly sought after award "Best Art Gallery" in their annual Best of Dallas issue. We have so many people to thank...

CADD ArtLab

Last night we were able to get a sneak peak of the new CADD ArtLab space downtown. Thanks to the masterful overseeing of Anne Lawrence, the space looks incredible and the show, Indexing the Moment, is a real treat. The grand opening will be tomorrow, September 20 with events and tours planned all day. Make sure to see the Allison V. Smith photographs downstairs and the Kirsten Macy works on paper hanging upstairs. Speaking of Kirsten Macy, she has recently been added as an artist on our website. Click around and see some images of her recent work.

Thanks!

A big thanks to everyone who came to Allison V. Smith's opening on Saturday night and made the evening a huge success. Despite exaggerated reports of the deadly wrath of Hurricane Ike, we still had a completely packed house. If you missed the opening, you have until October 18th to see the work. The season has officially started, so we are here Wednesday - Saturday from noon - 5pm, rain or shine.

Allison V. Smith's current show is officially on the walls! We still have some small details to tweak, but you're welcome to stop by anytime for a sneak peak.

Let the stories begin

We have already had a couple of pre-opening write-ups about Allison V. Smith's upcoming exhibition on Saturday, September 13th. Go here to find a blurb in The Observer, here to get a heads up from D Home & Garden, and here to see a few images on our site. There will more images coming, but you really ought to see these suckers in person. Saturday, September 13th from 6-8pm. Psst... Allison will be introducing a new project, called Oddly Enough, during the opening as well. Hooray for creative people!

Friday, September 5, 2008

If you should find yourself in New York City tomorrow night without any plans, please do swing by The Painting Center for the opening reception of American Abstract Artists from 6-9pm. Artist and friend Mark Williams will be exhibiting a new painting and in attendance. Lucky you if you're going!
